HanyuKaoshi.com is operated by Haruki Labs. This page says what is collected and why. It is short because very little is collected.
If you join the launch list
We store the email address you give us, and the date you gave it. That is all — no name, no other detail, and nothing you have not typed in yourself.
- Why: to email you when the site launches, with a discount code, and occasionally about progress before then.
- Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Who else sees it: the list is held by Kit (kit.com), which sends the email on our behalf. Nobody else. It is not sold, shared, or used for anything other than the above.
- How long: until you unsubscribe, or until the launch email has gone out and you have not opened anything for a year.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. Using it removes your address from the list, and no further messages are sent.
Visits to this site
We count page views using Plausible, which does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device, and does not build a profile of you. It records the page, the referring site, the country, and the type of device — never an identifier that could single you out. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies to consent to.
Requests are served through Amazon CloudFront, which processes your IP address in order to deliver the page. That is inherent to how the web works rather than something we collect.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no advertising networks, no retargeting.
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone.
Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In practice everything we hold about you is a single email address and the date it was given.
Unsubscribing erases that record and can be done at any time from any message we send.
Changes to this notice
We may revise this notice from time to time. Any revision takes effect upon publication on this page, and the date shown below is amended accordingly. Your continued use of this site following publication constitutes acceptance of the notice as revised.
Where a revision would materially alter how information already collected is handled, we will notify subscribers directly rather than rely on publication alone. Consent given by submitting the signup form is specific to the purposes described above and is not altered by a revision to this notice.
